Evolving Mind and Body

Developmental Somatic Psychotherapy ® Introductory Workshops, UK

Have you wondered at the relational, social and psychological development of infants and how this forms building blocks for the adults we are?

How much of this early learning supports us now?

What can de-rail us?

Julia Carter and Ruth Nightingale are recent graduates of the Developmental Somatic Psychotherapy ® Two Year Training Program, at the Center for Somatic Studies, NYC.  Since that time we have been looking for ways to share our learning with our peers and also develop thinking through our client work.

The first of these two themes have led us to set up Introductory Workshops.    These work shops are for professionals in the psychotherapy, counselling, psychology, social work and coaching fields who are interested in how as adults we still demonstrate the psychological impact of the first year of our life through our every day movements.  This means looking at what movement there is - or how we prevent movement from happening.

Developmental Somatic Psychotherapy ®, developed by Ruella Frank, Ph.D., is a relational and movement-oriented psychotherapy within a contemporary gestalt therapy framework. You can learn more about her work here

As a post graduate of DSP are you interested in meeting others like you in the UK for supervision days?

We are also interested in facilitating supervisory peer groups for post graduates of this study.  Please let us know through our blog on the Peer Supervision page if you are interested in knowing more and any ideas you may have.
